Dr. Ankumoni Saikia, Principal of Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, shared more details about the surgery, speaking to India Today NE. The surgery involved a complex procedure on a 16-year-old female patient from Dhubri district, who had a spinal tumor that caused a post-traumatic fracture and neurological deficits. The medical team, comprising experts in the field, successfully removed the tumor, performed decompression, and fixed a screw in the spine. Furthermore, the surgery was conducted under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ensuring that the patient faced no expenses.
