Traffic Diversions on GS Road for Flyover Construction in Guwahati
Guwahati, March 1, 2025: The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Guwahati, has issued a notification announcing a traffic diversion on the GS Road at Six Mile, Downtown, and Supermarket from 11:30 PM to 4:30 AM starting March 3, 2025. The move is aimed at facilitating the construction of a steel girder of a flyover near the Downtown Hospital.
As part of the traffic management plan, the following restrictions will be in place:
Key Routes and Advisories:
- Vehicles from Khanapara to VIP Road, Panjabari Road, and Jayanagar Road will continue to ply via the service road of the Six Mile flyover.
- Vehicles from Khanapara to Dispur can take the service lane of the Six Mile flyover via Jayanagar Road-Beltola Bazar Road-Beltola-Survey Road-Last Gate.
- Vehicles from Panjabari to Dispur can also take the Jayanagar Road-Beltola Bazar Road-Beltola-Survey Road-Last Gate route.
- Vehicles from Chachal-Ananda Nagar to Dispur can take the Jayanagar Road-Beltola Bazar Road-Beltola-Survey Road-Last Gate route.
- Rukminigaon/Rukmininagar residents can take the Belto-Survey Road or the GNRC-Dispur Road to reach Dispur.
- Vehicles from the Jayanagar side to Dispur can take the Beltola Bazar Road-Beltola-Survey Road route.
- Vehicles from the Ganeshguri side to Dispur will be diverted at the Super Market flyover point towards the Last Gate, taking the Beltola-Basistha Road.
- Vehicles from the Ganeshguri side to Downtown/Six Mile can take the service road of the Super Market flyover and go via Downtown Bylane-Dwarka Path-Ananda Nagar Path.
- Vehicles from the Last Gate side to Downtown can also take the service road of the Super Market flyover and go via the town bye-lane.
- No vehicles from major bylanes (Purbanchal Path, Sun Valley Bye-lane, Downtown Bye-lane) can enter the GS Road. They can take the Dwarka Path/Ananda Nagar Path to reach the Six Mile side or the Hengrabari Road/Swahid Dilip Hujuri Path to reach the Dispur side.
- No vehicles from other major bylanes (Tongra Satra Road, Lakshmi Mandir Path, Rukminigaon Bye-lane) can enter the GS Road. They can take either the Beltola Survey Road or the GNRC Dispur Road.
- All vehicles from the Downtown area to Khanapara can take the VIP Road via Chachal/Ananda Nagar and proceed to Khanapara via GS Road.
- All vehicles from the Downtown area to Dispur can take the Hengrabari Road or Swahid Dilip Hujuri Path.
