Shocking Unmasking: Legendary Boxer Oscar De La Hoya Revealed as Fuzzy Peas on The Masked Singer!
Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Masked Singer season 13, episode 2, "Shrek Night."
The latest episode of The Masked Singer took audiences on a whimsical journey with its Shrek-themed night that brought the beloved ogre’s swamp to the stage. The set was transformed with enchanting toadstools, complete with a fairytale opening narrated by the show’s host Nick Cannon. One of the standout moments came early when Ken Jeong emerged in a spot-on Lord Farquaad costume, delivering a laugh-out-loud rendition of "All Star" by Smash Mouth. He was soon accompanied by Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg dressed as Fiona, Robin Thicke as a wizard, and Rita Ora as a fairy.
The contestants did not disappoint, taking on songs from the Shrek movie soundtracks. Coral charmed with “Accidentally in Love” by Counting Crows, Paparazzo delivered a moving rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” Fuzzy Peas energized the crowd with “I’m a Believer” by Smash Mouth, and Ant touched hearts with “Wide Awake” by Katy Perry. Amidst the performances, the judges entertained with their antics, as Jeong continued to relish his Farquaad role, and McCarthy-Wahlberg humorously trolled him with “bad guess” signs. Rita Ora even shared a fun anecdote about her own Shrek-inspired adventure with her husband, Taika Waititi.
The night culminated in the elimination of Fuzzy Peas. Despite wild guesses by the judges—including Pitbull, John Leguizamo, Cesar Millan, and Antonio Banderas—none of them correctly identified Fuzzy Peas as boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya. The panel was left stunned and amused by their missteps.
With the Group A finals and a Rat Pack tribute quickly approaching next week, anticipation builds for the potential debut of new character Lucky Duck. Tune in next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox to see who will advance in this masked spectacle.
