Gangtok, Feb 17, 2025: The Sikkim Blue Duke Festival concluded on a high note, spotlighting vibrant cultural events and performances. The festival’s final day featured dynamic acts by local artists such as Wangden Sherpa, Jhuma Limbu, and the Mellow Preachers. An exclusive fashion show orchestrated by Positude and lively dance performances by Mighty Sikkim enriched the day’s lineup. The captivating "Shiva act" by Sushant Ghimire and Mushar Sharma captivated the audience.
The closing ceremony of the festival welcomed prominent figures, including MLAs L.B. Das and Sonam Venchungpa, Jacob Khaling, the political secretary to the Chief Minister, SKM spokesperson Yougan Tamang, and Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba among others. The guests emphasized the festival’s significance, particularly its inaugural focus on knowledge and education.
Jacob Khaling underscored the importance of the festival, lauding its unique approach. "The Sikkim Blue Duke Festival may initially appear like any other celebration, but it stands out as a pioneering event aimed at Sikkimese youth. Discussions on topics such as AI and Robotics were pivotal for our students. I express my gratitude to MP Indra Hang Subba for spearheading this initiative and thank CM P.S. Golay for his unwavering support," Khaling stated. He hailed the event as the first in the Northeast to prioritize knowledge-based interactions, providing a platform for students and entrepreneurs to engage with experts from across India.
