Tragic Road Accident Claims Two Lives on NH 17 in Assam
Guwahati: In a tragic incident on Saturday evening, two people lost their lives in a collision on National Highway 17 at Lampara, under the jurisdiction of Boko Police Station in Kamrup, Assam. The fatal accident involved a passenger bus and a motorcycle, with the bus rear-ending the motorcycle.
The victims, both carpenters commuting back to their homes in Guwahati, were tragically killed in the accident. Following the collision, the bus driver attempted to flee the scene. However, prompt action by the police led to the interception of the bus at Agchiya village, though the driver managed to escape and is currently being pursued by the authorities.
The bodies of the deceased were transported to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident and are actively searching for the bus driver responsible.
