Sikkim Blue Duke Festival Showcases Organic Cuisine and Future Technologies
Gangtok, Feb 16, 2025: The Sikkim Blue Duke Festival continued its vibrant celebration on its second day with a focus on local cuisine and technological advancements. Held at Saramsa Garden near Ranipool, the festival is an initiative by Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba to inspire creativity among Sikkim’s youth by combining tradition and innovation.
A notable highlight of the event was a live cooking session featuring three national master chefs and local culinary experts. These chefs used organic ingredients to bring Sikkim’s unique flavors to life, promoting local and traditional cuisine. They expressed gratitude to the festival organizers for providing a platform to showcase the region’s culinary heritage.
Apart from gastronomy, the festival also hosted several educational activities, with experts introducing students to Artificial Intelligence (AI), drones, and robotics. These sessions aimed to enlighten students about the technological developments shaping the future, aligning with the festival’s goal of fostering exploration and ambition among the youth.
Adding to the lineup, the festival featured talk shows like RoboSphere and discussions on coding, designed to engage and inform attendees about technology’s role in modern education and industry. Culinary excellence and organic heritage were also celebrated in collaboration with the Indian Federation Culinary Association.
Dignitaries, including Chief Minister’s political secretary Bikash Basnet, attended the event alongside students and SKM party officials. Basnet highlighted the program’s educational value, emphasizing its role in preparing students for a future dominated by AI and robotics.
The three-day festival, comprising 7-8 educational stalls and 12-13 food stalls, continues to be a beacon of cultural pride and technological inspiration for Sikkim and its youth. Participants and organizers alike praised the event for successfully merging tradition with the limitless possibilities of technology.
