Dynamic Breakthrough: BJP’s Sambit Patra Ignites Hope with Engaging 3rd-Round Discussion with MLAs
Amid a political crisis in Manipur, the BJP’s Northeast in-charge, Sambit Patra, conducted a third round of discussions with BJP ministers and MLAs at Hotel Imphal on Wednesday. This meeting followed an earlier session with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhawan, stirring further speculation about potential shifts in the state’s political dynamics.
Patra’s meeting with the Governor, which lasted 50 minutes, ended without any public comments on the discussions held. Despite the lack of official disclosures, these talks have sparked rumors of possible changes in the BJP’s leadership and strategy in Manipur. This series of meetings, which began on February 10, involves key political figures, including ministers and MLAs such as Sapam Ranjan, K. Ibomcha, Sheikh Noorul Hassain, Sapam Kunjeswar, and Minister Th. Biswajit. Discussions are reportedly centered on strategies to restore stability and peace in the region.
BJP MLA Karam Shyam, ahead of his meeting with Patra, refuted rumors about the imposition of President’s Rule in Manipur. He expressed confidence that the ongoing political issues would be addressed through the involvement of central leaders and state legislators, ruling out any immediate constitutional crisis. His assurances come amidst a continuing climate of uncertainty, with no official updates about the political status, despite the Manipur Assembly not having convened for six months.
Minister Leishangthem Susindro was also present at Hotel Imphal but did not make any public statements. As the state navigates this period of political ambiguity, the BJP’s strategic meetings signal an effort to stabilize the situation and address the underlying tensions within Manipur’s political framework.
