Shocking Twist: Mumbai Police Storms Ranveer Allahbadia’s Home After Explosive ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy!
Mumbai Police have intervened at YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s residence following a complaint about his statements on the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent.” The controversy has ignited public outcry, with calls for legal action and a ban on the program.
The complaint, lodged on Monday, implicates Allahbadia along with social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian and show host Samay Raina, and the program’s organizers. The allegations, according to Mumbai Police sources, revolve around the use of offensive language during the show, which has offended many viewers.
In a related development, lawyer Apurva, representing Ashish Chanchlani, visited Khar Police Station, which oversees the jurisdiction of the studio where the show is shot. This visit is seemingly connected to the ongoing legal proceedings regarding the case.
The entertainment industry has reacted strongly, with the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) condemning the remarks as “abhorrent” and “disrespecting societal and family values.” AICWA is demanding legal action and a complete halt to the show. It also urged industry professionals to dissociate from those involved with the program.
In response to the backlash, Allahbadia publicly apologized, admitting the inappropriate nature of his comments. In a video statement, he acknowledged, “Comedy is not my forte. My comment wasn’t just inappropriate—it wasn’t even funny. I am here to say sorry.” He vowed to use his platform more responsibly, emphasizing, “Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect,” and has requested the producers to edit out the contentious segments from the episode.
Aside from AICWA’s critique, further complaints have been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission. These allegations cite the use of offensive language and obscene remarks about women, purportedly for publicity and financial advantage. The situation reflects growing concern over content moderation on social media platforms.
