Breaking: Shocking Arrest of PLA Suspect in Imphal Public Toilet – A Dramatic Turn of Events
In Imphal, local police arrested a suspected activist of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), associated with the banned Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), following an operation targeting extortion activities in the Greater Imphal area. The arrest occurred at a public toilet within the jurisdiction of the Imphal City police station, catalyzed by intelligence inputs about increasing anti-social activities in known hotspots.
Led by the anti-extortion unit of Manipur police commandos, the operation resulted in the apprehension of Ningthoujam Khamba, also known as Nganba Meitei, aged 52. Preliminary interrogations at the scene unveiled the recovery of a mobile handset and a wallet with Rs 510 concealed within the toilet. Further questioning revealed the location of a four-wheeler connected to the suspect.
Authorities disclosed that Khamba was actively engaged in extortion from rented houses and shops in the Nagamapal and Uripok areas of the city. He, along with the confiscated items, has been taken to the City police station where necessary legal proceedings are underway. This development underscores the police’s continued efforts to curb unlawful activities and maintain order in the region.
