Breaking: Exciting New Rules Unveiled for CM’s Insurance Scheme Claims by Finance Dept | MorungExpress
The Finance Department of Nagaland has released new guidelines for claims under the Chief Minister’s Life Insurance Scheme (CMLIS) to assist those impacted by accidents, including snake bites, road mishaps, falls from trees, and drownings. The guidelines aim to streamline the compensation process for beneficiaries, especially nominees of breadwinners and dependents affected by such unfortunate incidents.
According to the issued guidelines, if a post-mortem examination is conducted, the accompanying report will be sufficient for processing claims and must be submitted with the application. In instances where a post-mortem is not feasible due to inadequate infrastructure or cultural prohibitions, the district administration is tasked with performing an inquiry and submitting its findings.
In situations where the body has already been interred before the district administration is notified, the subdivision’s administrative officer will take the lead in investigating the claim. They will provide a report either corroborating or disputing the details surrounding the incident. Should the death be reported before burial, the responsible administrative officer must verify the claim and deliver a detailed report with relevant observations.
The Finance Department emphasized that these procedures are designed to ensure a more efficient and accessible process for claimants under the insurance scheme. By implementing these protocols, the department aims to provide timely assistance to those in need, underscoring the government’s commitment to support citizens during distressing times involving accidental fatalities.
These guidelines represent a proactive approach by the state to address the challenges faced by beneficiaries in regions where conducting traditional post-mortem examinations is not always possible. This initiative not only ensures that families receive due compensation but also aligns with the state government’s efforts to reinforce their support systems for its people. With these measures, the Finance Department is set to make the claims process more transparent and effective, offering much-needed relief to affected families.
