Assam Government Proudly Honors NCC Cadets for Stellar Republic Day Performance – An Inspiring Moment for Northeast!
Guwahati, Assam: In a show of pride and celebration, the Assam government on Monday honored NCC cadets who recently returned from the prestigious Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025 in New Delhi. The felicitation ceremony took place at the Rudra Singha Sports Complex in Dispur, with Assam’s Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Nandita Garlosa, serving as the chief guest.
This year marked a historic participation for the North Eastern Region (NER) NCC contingent, which included a record 176 cadets at RDC 2025. Among them, 89 were from Assam. Their outstanding performances brought recognition and pride to both the state and the nation. Notably, the NER’s original composition, “Desh,” was celebrated as the Best Song at RDC. In a significant achievement, 12 cadets from the region joined the Kartavya Path Parade, while 11 were part of the Special Guard of Honour.
A moment of great pride for Assam and the NER was the appointment of Senior Under Officer Gracy Marak as Parade Commander for the Prime Minister’s Rally. Additionally, the Mixed Pipe and Drums Band, featuring 45 cadets from Mizoram, was awarded the title of ‘Best Band of NCC 2024-25’ for their exceptional performance. Among the distinguished honorees was SUO Aryamitra Nath of 8 Assam Bn NCC, Nagaon, who received the esteemed Raksha Mantri Padak for exemplary service. Lieutenant Moitree Hazarika, Associate NCC Officer at South Point School, Guwahati, was also recognized with the Rajya Raksha Mantri Padak for her notable contributions to the NCC.
In her address, Sports Minister Nandita Garlosa praised the cadets for their discipline, dedication, and commitment. She emphasized the NCC’s pivotal role in fostering responsible and patriotic citizens and encouraged the cadets to continue their pursuit of excellence, noting that their accomplishments at RDC 2025 are a testament to their determination and the high standards upheld by the NCC.
