Historic MoU Inked to Empower Manipur Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union: A Milestone for Dairy Farmers
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced on Friday that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to transfer the management of Manipur Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union Ltd to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). This strategic move is expected to bolster the state’s dairy industry by enhancing milk production capabilities.
During the signing ceremony at his Secretariat, CM Singh expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement, highlighting that the MoU sets the stage for significant reforms in the structure and management of the Manipur Milk Union. By facilitating a systematic reorganization of dairy cooperative societies, this transition is poised to introduce professional management practices and necessary structural reforms.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this development represents a major step forward in strengthening the dairy sector in Manipur.
