Mumbai City FC has bolstered its lineup by signing Spanish forward Jorge Ortiz, the club announced on Thursday. Ortiz, originating from Villacanas, Spain, will be joining the team until the 2025-2026 season. Renowned for his stint at Getafe CF’s youth academy and a notable period with Atletico Madrid B, Ortiz has carved out an impressive career in Spanish football. In 2022, he moved to Shenzhen Peng City, Mumbai City FC’s sister club, and played across China League One and the Chinese Super League, where he notched up 15 goals and 11 assists over 56 matches. Ortiz is also no stranger to the AFC, having made his mark by scoring in the 2021 AFC Champions League. His wealth of experience is expected to contribute significantly to the Islanders as they aim to excel in the Indian Super League (ISL).
