Outrage Erupts as Tripura Minister Refuses Help for Assaulted CPI(M) Workers, Left Demands Immediate Resignation

Opposition leader and CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhary criticized Tripura’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath for remarks about attacks on CPI(M) members. Chaudhary accused Nath of inciting BJP workers and claimed that Nath has violated his constitutional duty to uphold the law and protect state residents. He demanded that Nath step down, stating that the minister’s comments echoed criminal behavior rather than the responsibilities of his office.

Chaudhary also targeted former Chief Minister and current Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, accusing him of making inflammatory statements at an event on Poush Sankranti. He argued that despite Deb’s removal from the chief minister position three years ago, his rhetoric continues to incite violence, which Chaudhary attributed to frustrations caused by a disconnect with the public.

The controversy began after Nath referenced Newton’s third law of motion, implying that the communists were now being attacked as a consequence of past actions. This statement has sparked a debate, with Chaudhary asserting that both Nath and Deb’s comments reflect their frustration and contribute to a climate of violence.

As tensions between the ruling party and the opposition intensify, this situation highlights underlying political friction in Tripura, raising concerns over the conduct and responsibilities of elected officials.
