In a remarkable incident, a woman traveling on the Rani Kamlapati Express from Agartala to Barauni unexpectedly went into labor and successfully delivered her baby at the Guwahati railway station. The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) spokesperson, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, reported that the woman began experiencing labor pains aboard the train. Quick action was taken as railway officials coordinated with her family, advising them to disembark at Guwahati to ensure she received prompt medical assistance.
On the platform, a team of railway doctors, aided by female personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), swiftly responded to the emergency, assisting the woman through her labor and ensuring a safe delivery on Platform number 4. The coordinated efforts resulted in a successful birth, drawing praise for the rapid and effective response of the railway staff.
After the delivery, the mother, her newborn, and her husband were transported to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital via ambulance for continued medical care.
