Exciting News: Jiribam District Revitalizes Community Spirit with Meeyamgi Numit Programme in Manipur!
The District Administration of Jiribam, led by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, successfully reintroduced the District-level Meeyamgi Numit programme at the DC Office Complex after a prolonged pause. The event drew over 250 attendees, where 129 applications were processed, resolving 115 instantly, with 14 still in progress.
The programme featured a variety of services, facilitating community access to critical resources. The Social Welfare Department distributed CMST Cards, while the Forest Department provided saplings and seedlings. School uniforms and textbooks were handed out by the Education Department, seeds by the Horticulture Department, and pesticides by the Agriculture Department. Notably, applications for essential services such as drinking water supply and housing construction were submitted and processed.
Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar highlighted that the Meeyamgi Numit reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of good governance and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh’s dedication to delivering government services directly to the people. He announced that, starting next month, the programme would occur every second Saturday. Kumar expressed appreciation for the active participation of District-level officers (DLOs) and the public, who contributed to the programme’s success despite local challenges.
To improve service accessibility, future editions of Meeyamgi Numit will be held in strategic locations across Jiribam District, including the Ima Market. The DC called on the media to publicize the programme to enhance public involvement and ensure broader access to provided services. He stressed the importance of addressing unresolved applications promptly and directed DLOs to resolve these issues before the next session.
Key officials like Superintendent of Police Kh. Robinsun Singh and Addl. Deputy Commissioner Th. Manoranjan Singh attended, underscoring the event’s significance. Additionally, the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar offered subsidized groceries and household items, further benefiting attendees. The revival of Meeyamgi Numit represents a positive step toward stronger governance and community engagement in Jiribam, reinforcing the administration’s connection with the people it serves.
