Pranajit Ignites Inspiration at ‘Jagrati-2025’: Thrilling Inter-College Quiz Competition Launch in Udaipur
In a pioneering move, the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Transport Departments of Agartala have launched a joint awareness campaign focusing on consumer protection, road safety, and the perils of drug abuse. The initiative began with the opening round of “Jagrati-2025: Inter-College Quiz Competition” on January 11, 2025, at Rajarshi Kalakshetra in Udaipur.
Key figures inaugurated the event, including Finance and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Food and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, and Tripura High Court Judge Justice Arindam Lodh, among others. Their presence underscored the importance of the campaign aimed at educating students from the Gomati, Sepahijala, and South Tripura districts.
Justice Arindam Lodh spoke on the severe impact of drug addiction on families, urging community action towards a drug-free society. Minister Chowdhury emphasized the educational significance of the “Jagrati Quiz,” highlighting its role in promoting awareness of consumer rights, road safety, and anti-drug measures among students.
Structured in three phases, the competition involves initial selection rounds at colleges, followed by district competitions across various regions, culminating in a state-level final at Rabindra Bhavan on February 8, 2025. Teams compete for technological prizes, including a laptop, tablet, and smartphone at the state level, with additional audience participation rewards.
Finance Minister Singha Roy stressed the broader implications of the quiz as a tool for raising awareness, detailing the alarming road accident statistics in India and advocating for safer driving practices. The quiz, he noted, is integral to educating the youth about their rights and responsibilities.
Participation in the competition is free, with no registration fee. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to fostering an informed and conscientious younger generation in Tripura.
