Outrage Unleashed: India’s Strong Condemnation of Pakistan’s Controversial Afghan Airstrikes
India has strongly criticized Pakistan for its recent airstrikes in Afghanistan that resulted in the deaths of over 40 people, including women and children, in the Paktika province. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, expressed his condemnation on social media platform X, stating that targeting innocent civilians is unacceptable. He further accused Pakistan of following its “old habit” of blaming neighboring countries for its internal issues.
The airstrikes, which occurred on December 24 in the Barmal district, caused significant casualties, with reports indicating that six additional individuals, mostly children, were injured. The attack affected seven villages, with particularly heavy losses in Laman, where five family members were among the deceased.
These airstrikes have heightened tensions along the Afghan-Pakistan border, leading to violent confrontations. In the aftermath, a Pakistani paramilitary soldier was killed and seven others were wounded in cross-border shootings with Afghan forces. Protests erupted, with hundreds of Afghans voicing their anger over Pakistan’s actions.
Security officials from both nations have reported intermittent skirmishes involving heavy weaponry at the border, particularly between Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Afghanistan’s Khost province. As the situation remains tense, the international community is closely monitoring developments in the region.
