Celebrate Joy and Legacy: Margherita Senior Citizens’ Association’s 25th Anniversary Extravaganza
The Margherita Senior Citizens’ Association celebrated a significant milestone, marking its 25th silver jubilee and foundation day on January 1, with a series of celebratory events held at its Joyanagar premises in Margherita. The festivities kicked off with the association’s president, Pradip Mahanta, raising the organization’s flag. This was followed by Saroj Sharma inaugurating a solemn memorial ceremony.
The day featured an open session that gathered distinguished guests, presided over by Mahanta. Among the attendees were retired professor Chura Giri, Chitra Borgaohain, Dilip Buragohain, and Padma Saikia. A highlight of the session was the unveiling of a commemorative souvenir by Mahanta, dedicated to the association’s silver jubilee.
In a moving tribute, the event honored eight individuals recognized for their notable contributions to society, celebrating their efforts and dedication. The day continued with vibrant cultural presentations, where Bornali Borthakur and Chitra Borgaohain engaged the audience with songs and poems, infusing the event with artistic flair. Additionally, a variety of sports events provided entertainment and competition, with winners receiving accolades for their achievements.
