BPSC Aspirants Rally with Passionate Fury: Demand Justice Through 70th Exam Re-evaluation
Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants have intensified protests demanding a re-examination of the 70th BPSC exam. Concerns over changes in exam patterns and the normalization process have sparked calls for conducting exams in a single shift with one paper to eliminate normalization.
The protest has reached an indefinite strike stage, now lasting over eight days. Aspirants claim their peaceful demonstrations were met with police resistance, including a lathi charge. Influential figures have joined their cause, with Independent MP Pappu Yadav calling on opposition MPs and MLAs to support the students. Yadav urged public demonstrations at the homes of ruling party representatives, emphasizing the non-political nature of the issue.
Faisal Khan, a popular YouTuber and educator known as Khan Sir, visited students on a hunger strike, who he reported to be in dire conditions. Khan criticized the lack of attention from authorities, highlighting that several students are in critical condition and have been admitted to the ICU. He called on the BPSC to address the grievances of students and mentioned that a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the High Court, with plans to escalate the matter to the Supreme Court if necessary.
Despite these claims, BPSC Chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai has denied any allegations of irregularities. He stated the exams were conducted smoothly across all Bihar districts and dismissed reports of disruptions at a Patna exam center. Manubhai clarified that two officers were sent to manage the situation.
Previously, aspirants met Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal to discuss concerns about the December 13 examination. On December 18, protests against the BPSC were organized in Patna, further raising demands for examination safeguards. The situation continues to develop as aspirants and supporters seek redressal from the BPSC and the state government.
