Unveiling Swarnim Bharat: A Spectacular Republic Day Showcase of Unity and Pride Across 15 States & UTs

New Delhi, Dec. 24: The Ministry of Defence announced on Monday that the theme for the upcoming Republic Day Parade tableaux is ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas,’ symbolizing a golden India with a blend of heritage and progress. Fifteen states and Union Territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, and others, have been selected to present their tableaux on the Kartavya Path this January 26.

Additionally, 11 ministries and departments from the Union government have been chosen to participate in the 2025 Republic Day celebrations. Consistently, states, Union Territories, and national bodies showcase their designs during the Republic Day festivities on Kartavya Path. Even those not shortlisted for Kartavya Path are encouraged to display their tableaux at the Bharat Parv event at Red Fort from January 26-31.

Tableaux contribute significantly to the Republic Day parade’s charm, recognized for their intricate designs and meaningful messages. The selection process, managed by an Expert Committee, considers various aspects, from conceptual innovation to artistic expression. The committee focuses on ensuring each tableau harmonizes the themes of heritage (‘Virasat’) and development (‘Vikas’), while avoiding repetitive ideas and emphasizing aesthetic details such as colors, textures, and overall composition.

These artistic displays are not merely decorative but convey impactful narratives, balancing subtlety with directness, and enhancing the overall grandeur of the Republic Day celebrations.
