P.V. Sindhu’s Wedding Festivities Begin in Udaipur
Jaipur, December 21 (IANS) – Preparations are underway for the wedding of India’s celebrated badminton star, P.V. Sindhu, set in the scenic city of Udaipur. The functions are being held at the luxurious Raphael’s Hotel on the picturesque Udai Sagar Lake. Guests have started arriving, including several eminent personalities invited by Sindhu, such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar.
The couple, Sindhu and her fiancé, Venkat Dutta, the executive director of Posidex Technologies, reached Udaipur on Thursday. Since their arrival, both families have been actively reviewing the wedding arrangements. A pre-wedding photo shoot added to the excitement, capturing the joy and anticipation of the upcoming nuptials.
The celebrations kick off with a sangeet ceremony on Saturday night at Raphael’s Hotel, marking the beginning of the wedding rituals. The main wedding ceremony is scheduled for the following day, December 22, promising to host a gathering of distinguished guests. The couple plans to leave Udaipur on December 23, with a grand reception slated in Hyderabad on December 24.
In addition to Modi and Tendulkar, Sindhu’s guest list includes Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister, and actor Pawan Kalyan, among others. Sindhu personally delivered her wedding invites, underscoring the importance of their attendance on her special day.
Earlier this year, Udaipur served as the wedding destination for Bollywood celebrities, with Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ayra Khan, and Sunny Deol’s niece, Nikita Chaudhary, both choosing the city for their celebrations. Udaipur continues to be a favored site for high-profile weddings, drawing notable attendees from across the globe.
Sindhu, known for her historic achievements in badminton, including being the first Indian woman to win both silver and bronze medals in the Olympics, now embarks on this new chapter of her life in the grandeur of Udaipur’s royal backdrop.
