Virat Kohli, the former Indian cricket captain, is reportedly planning a permanent move to London with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their two children, according to statements made by his childhood coach, Rajkumar Yadav. This news comes as Kohli is currently on tour with the Indian cricket team in Australia for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Over recent years, Kohli has spent significant time in London, where his son, Akaay, was born earlier this year on February 15.
Although Anushka Sharma has not publicly confirmed the details, Coach Yadav mentioned that the relocation is expected soon. “Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his family. He will be leaving India shortly, although he’s currently prioritizing family time alongside cricket commitments,” Yadav shared with Dainik Jagran.
Following Akaay’s birth in London, Kohli returned to India to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He was also part of the triumphant Indian team at the T20 World Cup held in the USA and West Indies. Celebrations were short-lived, as Kohli returned from the World Cup before traveling to Sri Lanka for an ODI series and then jetting off to London in July. He remained there until August prior to India’s home series against Bangladesh.
Kohli recently made headlines at Melbourne airport after confronting the Australian media for trying to film him and his family without permission, insisting on privacy. The media later clarified that the incident was a misunderstanding and no unauthorized filming occurred.
Performance-wise, Kohli has struggled during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, managing only 126 runs across three matches, with his only century coming in Perth. His remaining scores were notably low, hinting at a challenging form streak.
