The State government is actively preparing for the Maha Kumbh 2025, taking extensive measures to guarantee the safety and security of both devotees and tourists. Authorities announced a “multi-faceted approach” focusing on zero complaints during the event. Integral to these preparations, police personnel assigned to the Kumbh area are undergoing specialized training and evaluation programs.
These comprehensive training sessions cover crucial topics, including disaster management, traffic control, engagement with devotees, and understanding the religious significance of the Kumbh. Following this training, personnel must pass written examinations designed to assess their readiness, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of security and service. The examinations include questions on disaster prevention, behavioral protocols with devotees, and the spiritual aspects of the Kumbh, equipping officers with the necessary skills to manage all aspects of their duties effectively.
Prashant Kumar, Director General of Police, stressed the importance of preparedness, highlighting the diverse challenges that Maha Kumbh will present. He assured that the training and examinations are comprehensive to ensure every officer is well-prepared for any situation. In support, SSP Kumbh Mela, Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi, stated that these mandatory sessions address a wide range of areas, including security, disaster management, and practical challenges on the ground. Personnel are also tested on route familiarity and the geographical considerations of the Kumbh site.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Training), Sandeep Verma, explained that the examination features a multiple-choice format with a total of 20 questions and a maximum score of 100 marks, conducted over an hour. For personnel who do not pass, an additional three-day training session is provided, followed by a re-examination to ensure all officers are fully prepared for their roles during the Kumbh.
