Stunning Insight: Overcoming Disappointment When Conversations Fall Flat
In a recent Lok Sabha session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech drew sharp criticism from various political leaders. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra described the address as “absolutely boring,” lamenting the absence of new or constructive content. She accused Modi of making 11 repetitive promises and highlighted the lack of debate on issues like corruption and the Adani controversy. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav echoed similar sentiments, dismissing the speech as repetitive rhetoric, criticizing Modi’s stance on dynastic politics, and condemning the government’s approach to issues like reservations and caste census.
Other Congress MPs also voiced their disapproval. KC Venugopal alleged that the speech lacked substance and was merely an attack on the Congress party. He accused the current government of favoring corporate interests over constitutional integrity. Mallu Ravi expressed discontent over Modi’s focus on the Gandhi family, while Praniti Shinde portrayed the speech as a mere blame game that failed to acknowledge the secular foundations of the nation.
In addition, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad expressed his disappointment over Modi’s failure to highlight achievements and address citizens’ concerns since the advent of the Constitution. Fellow party member Iqra Hasan accused the PM of ignoring key local issues like minorities’ rights and law and order in Uttar Pradesh. Congress MP Manickam Tagore remarked that Modi’s speech fell short of expectations, suggesting it resembled an election pitch rather than a reflection on India’s constitutional legacy of 75 years.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy criticized the speech for addressing only selective topics while avoiding crucial discussions on riots and women’s safety. However, NDA leaders, including Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, praised Modi for highlighting Congress’ past failings and alleged undermining of the Constitution, defending the PM’s strong stance against his critics.
