Exciting Showdown: Thrilling National School Games U-17 Girls Judo Competition Kicks Off Tomorrow in Tripura!
The 68th National School Games Under-17 Girls Judo Competition is poised to commence on December 12 at the Netaji Subhash Regional Coaching Centre in Agartala, Tripura. Over four days, young judo talents from across India will demonstrate their prowess, with Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurating the event.
As reported by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, this prestigious competition will see participation from 27 states and 4 judo associations, comprising 254 players and 71 officials. Thirteen teams have already arrived in Agartala, with the remaining participants expected later today.
The inauguration will spotlight previous successes, honoring ten Tripura athletes for their exceptional performances in past National School Games, as well as four athletes who achieved significant success in the Khelo India Youth Games. Minister Roy highlighted Tripura’s tradition of hosting national-level sporting events with success, expressing confidence in the seamless execution of this year’s competition.
Accompanying the minister at a press conference held at the Secretariat were Dr. Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty, Secretary of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, and Satyabrata Nath, the department’s director. They reiterated Tripura’s commitment to fostering sporting excellence and sportsmanship among young athletes.
Running until December 15, this event not only offers a competitive stage for emerging judo talents but also aims to cultivate camaraderie and a spirit of sportsmanship among participants. As the young athletes take to the mat, this competition emphasizes both individual excellence and collective achievement, reinforcing the importance of sports in youth development across the nation.
