Unforgettable Magic Unveiled: Vidya Fest in Khowai Concludes with a Spectacular 4-Day Celebration
Vidya Fest Celebrates Student Talents in Khowai District
Khowai district’s inaugural ‘Vidya Fest’, held from November 29 to December 2, showcased the unique talents of 2,000 students from 12 Vidyajyoti schools. This cultural festival, a first of its scale in the district, provided a platform for students to express their abilities across 29 events in performing arts, literary, and visual arts, hosted at three locations: Khowai, Kalyanpur, and Teliamura.
Governor Indra Sena Reddy, the chief guest, highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in nurturing creativity and promoting a balanced life. He urged students to actively engage in such pursuits. Kalyani Saha Roy, Chief Whip, emphasized the educational vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting the state government’s commitment to advancing education through initiatives like the Vidyajyoti scheme.
Chandni Chandran, DM and Collector, welcomed dignitaries and articulated the purpose of ‘Vidya Fest’—to help students express themselves and build confidence through participation. She also recognized the role of cultural instructors in enhancing students’ development.
The event concluded with the distribution of awards by the Governor. Khowai Government English Medium Higher Secondary School emerged as the top champion with 73 points. Teliamura HS School and Teliamura English Medium Higher Secondary School secured the second and third places, respectively. A notable achievement was the fourth position secured by Ghilatali HS School, a rural Vidyajyoti institution, ahead of many urban schools.
The festival featured cultural presentations by teachers and students, adding vibrancy to the event. Shri Rupak Sarkar, Chairman of the Teliamura Municipal Council, delivered the vote of thanks, marking a successful celebration of student talent and creativity in Khowai district.
