Staggering 38% YoY Surge in UPI Transactions this November: Witness the Unstoppable Growth!

In November, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions witnessed a significant surge, recording a 38% year-on-year increase to reach 15.48 billion transactions, according to data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The total transaction value amounted to Rs 21.55 lakh crore, reflecting a 24% growth compared to the same period last year. On a daily basis, the transaction volume averaged 516 million, amounting to Rs 71,840 crore per day.

Despite a slight decrease from October’s all-time high of 16.58 billion transactions valued at Rs 23.5 lakh crore, UPI continues to play a pivotal role in India’s digital payment ecosystem. The platform’s remarkable rise underscores its impact in enhancing financial access and driving the nation toward a cashless economy. This growth trajectory is part of a broader movement across various digital payment systems. Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) saw 408 million transactions, totaling Rs 5.58 lakh crore in November, while FASTag transactions increased by 4% to 359 million. Additionally, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) transactions reached 92 million, with a transaction value of Rs 23,844 crore during the month.

The Indian government lauds UPI for revolutionizing digital payments through its simplicity, security, and ability to perform round-the-clock transactions.
