On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting at his residence with ministerial colleagues to focus on the preparations for the Maha Kumbh and emphasize the importance of communicating the message of “development and unity” to the public. This marked the first meeting of its kind at the CM’s residence, attended by BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary and other key party figures.
The meeting followed an earlier gathering at the BJP office where Adityanath addressed party workers and celebrated the success of newly elected MLAs from recent by-elections. He attributed this success to the party’s effective organizational strategy and expressed confidence in achieving a more significant victory in the 2027 Assembly elections. He highlighted the importance of synergy between the party and government to make the “impossible possible” through unity and teamwork.
Adityanath pointed out the BJP’s remarkable performance in the by-elections, including wins in traditionally challenging constituencies like Kundarki and Katehari, thanks to a well-devised strategy and collective effort. The victory in Kundarki, by a record margin of 1.45 lakh votes, was cited as a testament to this approach.
He claimed that such successes would instill fear in opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections and underlined the need to meet public expectations by effectively delivering government schemes to every citizen. This effort, he insisted, would amplify BJP’s triumphs in the future.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also commented on the by-election outcomes, calling them a defeat for the opposition’s “fake PDA” (referring to Pichhda, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak). He declared the BJP poised to win in key constituencies like Karhal and Sisamau in the 2027 elections, asserting that the Samajwadi Party’s foundation had been shaken.
