Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the Panchayat elections in the state will be completed by February 10. Additionally, he disclosed plans for a special one-day session of the Assam Assembly’s Budget session to be held in Kokrajhar.
Celebrating recent bye-election successes, Sarma highlighted the notable victories of the BJP and its allies, AGP and UPPL, across five assembly constituencies. Among these was the historic reclaiming of the Samaguri seat from Congress after a 25-year gap.
In discussing the BJP’s strategic direction, the Chief Minister emphasized the party’s inclusive ideology, asserting, “Appeasement to none, justice to all.” He reiterated the party’s commitment to minority communities, pledging ongoing engagement to secure their support.
Sarma also stressed the importance of a firm stance on infiltration, aligning with the BJP’s focus on national security. He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the forthcoming assembly elections, signaling optimism for continued electoral successes.
