Brave Animal Rescuer Faces Intimidation After Heroic Dog Rescue in Guwahati
In a troubling twist of events from Guwahati, the rescue of an abused pet dog named Prince from Japorigog has resulted in the rescuer receiving multiple threatening phone calls. The rescuer, who collaborated with the Dispur Police Station and PurrPaws Foundation to save the dog, is now seeking police protection.
On November 21, with the help of Dispur Police and PurrPaws Foundation, the rescuer managed to save Prince, a dog who was found in a dire state of abuse and neglect. Video evidence showed the dog’s owner, Salim ul Islam, severely beating Prince, prompting the rescue operation on November 22.
“The condition Prince was in was heartbreaking. It was evident that he had suffered extreme abuse,” the rescuer highlighted. The joint effort with the police and PurrPaws Foundation was instrumental in ensuring the dog’s safety.
However, shortly after the rescue, the situation escalated. On November 22, the rescuer reportedly received a threatening phone call from Hrishikesh Sharma, who identified himself as a member of the AGP. Sharma allegedly warned him for his involvement, suggesting he could harm him at any moment. “The call came at 7:54 PM, and the tone was intimidating,” the rescuer recalled. “It felt like a threat against the very essence of my work as an animal rescuer.”
In addition to Sharma’s call, the rescuer has been besieged with menacing messages and calls from various unknown numbers, leaving him in a constant state of worry. Speaking to GPlus, he expressed, “Animal rescue is not easy. Many people don’t see the importance of protecting these lives. But this is the first time I have faced threats that feel so personal and direct.”
As the situation unfolds, the rescuer continues to emphasize the importance of animal protection while dealing with these unsettling threats.
