Exciting Showdown in Tura: Meghalaya By-Polls Counting Unveils Crucial Results on November 23!
The counting of votes for the bye-election in the 56-Gambegre (ST) Legislative Assembly Constituency in Meghalaya is set for November 23 at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in West Garo Hills, Tura. To ensure a smooth and secure process, a three-tier security arrangement has been implemented. The counting will be conducted in four rounds across 14 tables, staffed by 28 individuals. Each table will have one counting supervisor and one assistant, with additional teams available for contingencies.
The process will kick off with the counting of postal ballots at 8:00 AM, followed by the tallying of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at 8:30 AM. Voter turnout for the election, which was held on November 13, 2014, reached a total of 30,086, with male voters numbering 15,237 and female voters close behind at 14,849.
This thorough arrangement aims to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the vote-counting process, maintaining the integrity of this significant electoral event.
