Fierce Stand Against Terrorism: Manipur CM’s Resolute Response to Jiribam Attack on Innocents
On November 19, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh fiercely condemned a brutal terrorist attack in Jiribam that resulted in the deaths of three women and three children. Singh declared that terrorists who harm innocent civilians have no place in any society.
In a social media video, Singh revealed that 40-50 heavily armed terrorists orchestrated a coordinated assault targeting internally displaced persons at a relief camp in Borobekra and the local police station. He emphasized that such heinous acts are unacceptable in civilized society and are meant to instill fear in vulnerable communities.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel displayed exceptional bravery in response, neutralizing ten terrorists and averting a potentially devastating scale of casualties. Singh lauded their quick and decisive action, acknowledging their role in saving hundreds of innocent lives. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the CRPF and state forces for their remarkable courage and commitment to duty,” Singh stated.
In response to the attack, the government immediately sent 20 additional companies of central armed police forces to the area and planned to deploy 50 more to strengthen security measures.
Singh vowed an unyielding pursuit of justice, assuring that those responsible would be held accountable for their inhumane violence. “We will not rest until they are held accountable for their actions,” he asserted. The Chief Minister called for unity in condemning the violence against innocent women and children and committed to pursuing justice relentlessly.
The attack highlights ongoing security challenges in the region, underlining the need for a concerted effort to ensure safety and peace for all residents. Singh’s commitment to addressing these challenges reflects a government determined to uphold law and order while safeguarding its citizens from such atrocious acts of terror.
