Revolutionary Partnership: NABH and RSSDI Unite to Transform Diabetes Care Quality in India with Compassion
New Delhi: In a significant move to boost diabetes care in India, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) has teamed up with the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI). This partnership, announced by the commerce ministry, aims to enhance diabetes management by merging NABH’s accreditation expertise with RSSDI’s knowledge of clinical guidelines and research.
Diabetes, a chronic condition affecting over 250 million Indians, arises when the body struggles with insulin production or utilization. The collaboration seeks to combat this growing concern by advancing patient outcomes through improved management strategies, education, and standardized treatment protocols. A key objective is the creation of robust clinical and digital health standards to streamline diabetes care nationwide.
RSSDI, with its vast network of over 12,000 diabetes care professionals, will develop new accreditation standards for diabetes clinics, ensuring adherence to the latest clinical practices. Concurrently, NABH will refine its allopathic clinic standards, focusing on diabetes care quality from education to treatment, and integrating cutting-edge technologies.
The partnership will also emphasize digital health solutions, facilitating enhanced patient care through technology. These solutions will optimize patient data management, treatment tracking, and ongoing health monitoring—critical components of effective diabetes management.
Rizwan Koita, NABH chairperson, highlighted the importance of standardized care, noting, “Better diabetes management is pivotal for the healthcare ecosystem.” By promoting NABH’s accreditation standards, RSSDI will foster improved, uniform care across its extensive professional network.
Expected to reduce diabetes-related complications, this synergistic effort underscores NABH’s dedication to specialized care standards and aligns with the Quality Council of India’s mission to elevate healthcare quality at the grassroots level, as emphasized by QCI chairperson Jaxay Shah.
