Tragic Assault at Seppa District Hospital Leaves Four Dead and Six Injured
Seppa, 14 November: A harrowing incident unfolded at Seppa District Hospital on Thursday around 11:30 am when a man identified as Nikam Sangbia went on a violent spree, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to six others.
The attack took place in the hospital’s female ward, causing shock and devastation. Superintendent of Police Kamdam Sikom provided details of the tragic event, identifying the deceased as Tade Sangbia, the wife of the assailant, their two-year-old daughter Mekhya Sangbia, Fei Beyong, a Chowkidar, and Paka Welly Tallang, an attendant. Among those injured was Inspector Minli Geyi, Officer-in-Charge of Seppa Police Station, who sustained injuries to his left hand.
According to the initial investigation by the local police, the accused, Nikam Sangbia, began his assault by attacking his wife and young daughter, who were admitted to the hospital. Following this, he indiscriminately attacked others in the vicinity.
Authorities acted swiftly to apprehend Sangbia, who is now in police custody as the investigation continues. The motive behind the sudden and horrific attack remains unclear, with law enforcement working diligently to gather more information.
