In a heartbreaking series of events, two minors lost their lives in separate road accidents in Assam on Monday. The first incident took place in Krishnai, within the Golapara district, involving a seven-year-old child traveling in an e-rickshaw. The mishap occurred on NH-17 when the e-rickshaw, which was overspeeding, fell into a pit and overturned. The impact caused the battery to dislocate, resulting in a severe head injury for the child, who was traveling with two others, including his mother. Despite rescue efforts, the young boy succumbed to his injuries, sparking local protests calling for stricter regulations and actions against the e-rickshaw driver.

The second incident unfolded in Pathsala, Bajali district, where a 16-year-old boy was killed after the bicycle he was riding collided with a four-wheeler. The teenager, alongside another youth, was en route to the gym when the tragic accident occurred. While the companion survived, the loss of the young life cast a shadow over the community.
