Empowering Lives: Nepal Triumphantly Hosts D30 De-Addiction & Disability Awareness Summit
The D30 De-addiction and Disability Awareness Summit was hosted in Kathmandu on Monday, focusing on the challenges posed by drug abuse and its resultant disabilities, particularly among youth. The event saw participation from a diverse group including civil societies, spiritual leaders, social activists, and political figures from India and Nepal, along with renowned personalities from both nations.
Nepal’s President, Ram Sahay Yadav, recognized and honored individuals with the International Excellence and Youth Icon Awards for their exemplary contributions to the domain of drug de-addiction. In a noteworthy address, Paralympic silver medalist Deepa Malik underlined the direct correlation between drug abuse and disabilities. Malik highlighted the preventability of these disabilities, emphasizing the negative impact such addictions have on maintaining a normal lifestyle.
Additionally, Memory and Mind Trainer Nabal Pajihar introduced practical de-addiction techniques, such as the wrist rubber band method, offering insights into effective strategies for overcoming addiction.
The summit facilitated in-depth discussions around the societal challenges posed by drug-induced disabilities and explored comprehensive strategies and future directions to address and mitigate these issues.
