Neha Biswal, a social media influencer based in Bengaluru, has reported being molested by a 10-year-old boy while returning from work on Tuesday night. The incident, which occurred at BTM Layout, was captured on video as Ms. Biswal was recording herself walking down the street. The boy, who initially cycled in the same direction, made a U-turn and headed towards her, eventually touching her inappropriately. Ms. Biswal described feeling traumatised by the incident, sharing her experience in a video post. She raised an alarm, leading locals to catch the boy, although many bystanders initially urged leniency due to his age, believing his actions were unintentional. However, upon viewing the video, some supported Ms. Biswal’s decision to confront him. Despite the pressure, she did not formally file a police complaint to avoid impacting the boy’s future. Nonetheless, the Bengaluru Police have proactively initiated an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage to confirm the incident. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sarah Fatima confirmed that the minor has been detained. Ms. Biswal expressed gratitude for the police’s supportive response, although she remains mentally unsettled. The police have assured a thorough and sensitive investigation into the matter.
