Shocking Masked Singer Reveal: Beloved Natalie Imbruglia Unveiled as Bluebell!
Warning: Spoilers for The Masked Singer Season 12, Episode 6, “’60s Night.”
The Masked Singer hit a high note of nostalgia during its ’60s Night episode, immersing the show in flower power, vibrant tunes, and iconic costumes. This themed episode was also the Group B finale, featuring contestants Goo, Bluebell, and Wasp.
The trio took center stage in a lively opener with a Beach Boys classic, “Fun, Fun, Fun,” setting the retro tone. Goo then performed “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals, while Bluebell sang “Do You Love Me” by the Contours, and Wasp captivated the judges with “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin.
Adding to the charm, the Men in Black infused humor and nostalgia with “Inventions of the ’60s” clues, including a memorable Easy-Bake Oven clue that led host Nick Cannon to grimace after sampling a Vegemite sandwich.
However, nostalgia quickly gave way to competition, as two contestants were set to be eliminated. Bluebell was first to go, leading to the panelists guessing various Australian celebrities based on the Vegemite clue. Yet, they were all off the mark. The mask came off to reveal ’90s star Natalie Imbruglia, renowned for her hit song “Torn.” Ironically, panelist Rita Ora also missed guessing Imbruglia’s identity, despite having been on the U.K. version of the show when Imbruglia won.
As the show proceeded to a Battle Royale, Wasp and Goo delivered “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye. Wasp emerged victorious, but Goo was spared from elimination by the panel’s Ding Dong Keep It On bell, advancing both to the upcoming quarterfinals.
With no more saves available, Group C will soon reveal the final quarterfinalist. Catch their unveiling in “Who Are You Fest Night,” airing next Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
