Shocking Revelation: Modi’s Fiery Critique on Congress-JMM-RJD’s Alleged Plan to Erase Tribal Reservations in Jharkhand
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing criticism against the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) during a public rally in Chaibasa, Jharkhand on November 4. In his address, Modi accused these parties of conspiring to alter Jharkhand’s demographics for electoral gains. He claimed that the opposition supports illegal immigrants to bolster their vote bank, threatening tribal reservations by reallocating them.
Modi also pledged that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power, stringent measures would be enacted to reclaim lands from infiltrators. Highlighting the importance of tribal pride, he criticized the opposition for being “anti-tribal,” accusing them of disrespecting tribal history and figures like former chief minister Champai Soren.
In his speech, Modi recalled historical grievances against the Congress, alleging they committed “barbaric crimes” against tribals, referencing incidents like the 1980s Guwa Goli Kaand. As part of the BJP’s outreach to tribal communities, Modi emphasized the party’s commitment to excluding tribes from the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) as outlined in their election manifesto, countering what he termed as false propaganda by JMM.
Modi’s remarks were set against the backdrop of the BJP’s recent losses in tribal-majority constituencies. He articulated confidence that the upcoming state elections would yield historic victories for the BJP. Citing examples, he mentioned that BJP-led states have tribal chief ministers and referenced Droupadi Murmu’s nomination as India’s first tribal president under the NDA’s regime, contrasting it with the Congress’s opposition to her candidacy.
Modi’s rally signaled a sharp focus on tribal issues as the BJP seeks to regain its foothold in Jharkhand amid looming assembly elections.
