Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the necessity of formulating a long-term strategy to enhance and preserve Hindi literature and its grammatical forms, according to a statement from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. During the 32nd meeting of the Kendriya Hindi Samiti on November 4, 2024, Shah underscored the importance of translating modern educational curricula into Hindi and other Indian languages to promote universal acceptance and flexibility of Hindi. The Kendriya Hindi Samiti, led by the Prime Minister and comprising 21 members, plays a pivotal role in guiding government efforts to enhance the use of Hindi. Shah also noted that India uniquely recognizes 11 languages as classical, with five more recently granted this status.
