Agartala, 4th November 2024: In a recent reshuffle by the General Administration Department, the Tripura state government has announced the transfer and posting of several IPS and TPS officers as part of strategic administrative realignments. This decision, made in the interest of public service, involves three IPS and eight TPS officers receiving new assignments, effective immediately.
Avinash Rai, an IPS officer who previously served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) for the Dhalai district, has been reassigned as SP for the North district, taking over from Bhanupada Chakraborty. Chakraborty, in turn, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Agartala.
In other notable changes, Mihir Lal Das, a TPS officer previously in charge of Cyber Crime in the state, will now serve as SP for the Dhalai district. Ashish Kumar Thakur, an IPS officer who was awaiting his new role, has been designated as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) for Kanchanpur. Meanwhile, Debabrata Das, who held the position of SDPO in Dharmanagar, will transition to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) for the West district.
Further assignments include B. Zorinpuia, a TPS officer, moving from Deputy SP North to SDPO Dharmanagar, and Ajoy Debbarma, previously SDPO Udaipur, now serving as DySP at the Tripura Police Cyber Bureau (TPCB). Nirman Das shifts from his role as DySP Gomati to SDPO Udaipur. Bapi Debbarma, formerly SDPO Gandacherra, will now be SDPO Santirbazar, while Sougat Chakma makes the opposite transition, heading to Gandacherra from Santirbazar. Lastly, Sutapa Deb, previously Deputy SP in Khowai, has been newly assigned as Deputy SP for the Special Branch (SB).
These transfers and postings are intended to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the police force across various districts in Tripura, ensuring the maintenance of law and order in the state.
