Shocking Mystery Unfolds: ‘Missing’ Posters of MP Rakibul Hussain Ignite Curiosity in Dhubri
Dhubri, Oct. 30: Overnight, ‘missing’ posters of Dhubri MP Rakibul Hussain emerged in Dhubri town, stirring public intrigue and debate. These anonymous posters, appearing in both alleyways and main streets, criticized MP Hussain for his alleged absence during a local tragedy and suggested he was preoccupied with campaigning for his son, Tanzil Hussain, in Samaguri ahead of the upcoming state by-elections.
The controversy follows a tragic boat accident on the Tipkai River on October 26, which resulted in the death of a young girl and injuries to 10 others. Critics accuse MP Hussain of neglecting his duties towards the grieving families, prioritizing his son’s political pursuits instead. The posters voice public dissatisfaction, accusing him of neglecting urgent regional issues.
This development has prompted strong reactions from the Dhubri District Congress. At a press conference in Rajiv Bhawan, District Congress President Abedur Zaman, Golakganj MLA Abdus Sobhan Ali Sarkar, and senior Congress members labeled the posters as ‘political mischief.’ MLA Sobhan claimed that these were tactics by BJP factions to undermine Tanzil Hussain’s by-election chances in Samaguri. He asserted MP Hussain’s enduring support among Dhubri’s people, dismissing the posters’ influence.
Congress leaders emphasized MP Hussain’s dedication to his constituency, condemning the posters as efforts to mislead and distract the public from the by-election. As election campaigns intensify, this incident highlights escalating political tensions between rival groups.
