Empowering Equality: Why BCs’ Contribution to Caste Census is Crucial, Says Panel Chief
BC Commission Chairman G. Niranjan emphasized the pivotal role of Backward Classes in a comprehensive caste survey aimed at enhancing their political and economic development. Speaking at a public hearing in Sangareddy, he urged BC communities to actively engage in the caste census starting November 6. This door-to-door survey is crucial for understanding the social, educational, economic, employment, and political conditions of BCs. He called for wholehearted cooperation from all parties and noted that public hearings by the BC Commission would take place across all districts until November 13, urging District Collectors to participate actively. In addressing caste-related insults, the commission plans to submit a report advocating for the BC Prevention of Atrocities Act.
