Breaking: Shocking Capture of 2 PLA Cadres Sparks Tension at Indo-Myanmar Border
Manipur Security Operations: Assam Rifles Apprehend Rebel Cadres and Rescue Youth
In a strategic operation along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur, Assam Rifles personnel successfully apprehended two members of the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and facilitated the rescue of a youth coerced into joining a militant outfit.
According to an official statement, acting on timely intelligence, Assam Rifles set up strategic positions near Border Pillars 86/87, covering the Moreinthel, Yangoupokpi, and Songtang areas. The operation led to the arrest of Ningolbam Priyo Singh and Saikhom Devajit Singh, both 21 years old, who confessed to being part of the PLA. The duo was intercepted while attempting to cross from Myanmar into Indian territory.
In a separate incident, Assam Rifles played a crucial role in the safe return of a young man who had been manipulated into joining the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK). The youth, who had received initial training in a camp in Myanmar, was reunited emotionally with his family on October 20 in Pallel, Manipur.
These operations underscore the ongoing challenges and security efforts in the region to combat insurgency and safeguard individuals from militant exploitation.
