The Kotturpuram police have apprehended two individuals involved in a mobile phone snatching incident in Chennai’s Kotturpuram area. The arrest followed a complaint by local resident Ganesan, who reported that his phone was snatched by two people on a motorcycle while he was on Ponniamman Koil Street. The arrested suspects are identified as V. Rahul, 19, from Triplicane, and S. Nitish Kumar, 18, from Thiruvanmiyur. During the police investigation, H. Mubarak Basha, 22, of Korukkupet, was identified and subsequently arrested as the buyer of the stolen device. Further inquiries revealed the accused were part of a series of phone-snatching incidents in areas including Thiruvanmiyur and Velachery.
