BJP Challenges Priyanka’s Poll Affidavit: Accuses Congress of Disrespecting Kharge and Dalits with Outrageous Insults
New Delhi, Oct 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a strong critique of the Congress party, focusing on alleged discrepancies in Priyanka Gandhi’s election affidavit. Speaking at the BJP headquarters, national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused the Congress of demeaning Dalits and exploiting internal brokerage, citing Priyanka Gandhi’s affidavit as evidence of these claims. Bhatia highlighted inconsistencies in her husband Robert Vadra’s declared net worth, noting it was below the Rs 75 crore demanded by the Income Tax Department.
Bhatia questioned the origins of the Gandhi family’s alleged unexplained wealth, urging Sonia, Rahul, and Priyanka to clarify these financial irregularities. He framed these financial discrepancies as symbolic of “extortion” by the Gandhis. The BJP spokesperson also criticized the Congress for supposedly sidelining party president Mallikarjun Kharge during Priyanka Gandhi’s nomination filing for the Wayanad seat, presenting a photo and a viral video as evidence of Kharge being snubbed while Gandhi family members occupied prominent positions.
Bhatia referenced past instances of similar treatment towards former Congress president Sitaram Kesari to illustrate a pattern of marginalization by the Gandhi family. Additionally, he chastised Rahul Gandhi for his lack of financial contribution towards disaster relief efforts in Wayanad, a constituency he represents. Bhatia further accused Rahul Gandhi of labeling the Congress as a “Muslim party” and endorsing the Muslim League as secular.
The BJP’s allegations point to broader criticisms of Congress leadership and their historical handling of intra-party dynamics and minority positions, setting the stage for intensified political conflicts in the upcoming elections.
