Shocking First Look: Kashmir Terror Attack Unveils Militants with US-Made M4 Carbines and AK-47s | See the Unnerving Photos
In a tragic event that underscores the persistent threat of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, a recent terror attack in Ganderbal district has claimed the lives of seven individuals, including a doctor and six laborers. This brutal assault occurred at a workers’ camp on October 20, along the Srinagar-Leh National Highway, targeting laborers at a tunnel construction site. The perpetrators, armed with American-made M4 carbines and AK-47s as captured on newly released CCTV footage, are seen entering the camp’s facilities and opening fire, creating a scene of devastation.
The two militants, described as frail in appearance yet heavily armed, executed the attack with precision, first targeting a mess area before proceeding towards the officers’ zone. The victims, tragically caught in the line of fire, included both local and non-local workers: Dr. Shahnawaz Dar, Faheem Nasir, Kaleem, Mohammad Hanif, Shashi Abrol, Anil Shukla, and Gurmeet Singh. Two laborers died instantly, while four more succumbed to their injuries, along with the doctor, subsequently. Five others remain hospitalized, recovering from severe injuries.
Responsibility for this vicious act has been claimed by The Resistance Front, an affiliate of the banned group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The attack has prompted strong reactions, especially from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who has pledged to avenge this attack and has accused Pakistan of stoking violence in the region.
In response, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has visited the crime scene to collect evidence crucial for identifying the assailants. A large-scale manhunt is currently underway to apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime. Meanwhile, political tensions have been stirred, with notable claims from Mehbooba Mufti suggesting pressure on non-locals to exit the valley, adding another dimension to this escalating conflict.
This incident highlights the ongoing volatility in the region and the complex interplay of local and international dynamics that continue to fuel unrest in Kashmir.
