Exciting Inception: Shooting of Captivating Assamese Feature Film ‘Dipholu’ Begins – Northeast News Exclusive
The Assamese film industry is abuzz with excitement as Borluit Productions begins filming its first full-length feature, ‘Dipholu’. This marks a pivotal moment for the Tezpur-based company, renowned for its impactful short films like ‘Akaax Bisari – Into the Sky’ and ‘Rong – The Colour’. Situated near Titabor in Assam’s Jorhat district, the initial shooting schedule is set to wrap up within the next 20 days.
‘Dipholu’ is an ambitious project blending situational comedy with emotional depth, promising to be a captivating viewing experience. The film stars the talented Amrita Gogoi and Subrat Deori, alongside seasoned actors such as Arun Nath, Mridula Barua, Arun Hazarika, and Purnada Hazarika. The ensemble cast also includes Dr. Hitesh Baruah, Simashree Bora, Rajib Dowari, Anirban Kalita, Kanika Nath, Priyanshi Kashyap, and others, ensuring a dynamic and compelling narrative.
Directed, edited, and penned by Nekib, with a screenplay enriched by Debojit Bora’s dialogues, ‘Dipholu’ is set to showcase the picturesque rural landscapes of Assam through the lens of cinematographer Uttam Kalita. Jekiv, doubling as the film’s producer, composes a richly evocative music and background score, complemented by Uday Shankar’s graceful choreography that enhances the storytelling.
The production is managed by chief assistant director Jitul Rajbongshi, aided by Debasish Deka and Afiron Nisha, with visual aesthetics crafted by costume designer Juri Kalita and makeup artist Pijumoni Sharma. Utpal Kalita’s expertise ensures smooth production management.
Borluit Productions aims to capture Assam’s vibrant culture and contemporary narratives, as ‘Dipholu’ explores themes of tradition against modernity, offering a reflective cinema experience. Scheduled for a summer 2025 release, ‘Dipholu’ is set to resonate with audiences, bringing a distinct Assamese flavor to the feature film domain.
