BJP’s Membership Drive Gains Momentum in Tripura
Agartala, October 20, 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has made significant strides in its membership drive, enrolling over 6 lakh new members, according to Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha. Announced during a media briefing in the 8-Town Baradowali assembly constituency, Dr. Saha expressed optimism about reaching the party’s target of 12 lakh members.
The Chief Minister highlighted the party’s rising popularity, attributing it to the confidence the people of Tripura have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. "The response to our membership drive is overwhelmingly positive, with over 6 lakh individuals joining online. We are hopeful of achieving our 12 lakh target soon," Dr. Saha stated.
In a display of grassroots engagement, Dr. Saha, also serving as the MLA for the 8-Town Baradowali constituency, interacted with residents at booths 16 and 17 in Ward No. 20. He reported that the local membership drive had seen over 12,000 new sign-ups, out of a goal of 20,000, reflecting the enthusiasm in the community.
Dr. Saha was joined by key party figures, including Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Corporator Ratna Dutta, and Baradowali Mandal President Sanjay Saha, underscoring the collaborative effort behind the drive. "There is palpable excitement and support for BJP. With offline registrations still coming in, we anticipate surpassing our current estimates," Dr. Saha added, welcoming the new members warmly.
This membership drive is part of a broader initiative to strengthen BJP’s presence across India, aiming to bolster its grassroots connections and expand its influence.
